Dashboard rate metrics reference

This page describes the eight named rate metrics and four operational counts on the admin dashboard — what each measures, its formula, and what’s excluded from the calculation.

These cards show organization-wide financial health over time. Each card displays a current value, a sparkline trend (default: last 90 days), and a period-over-period change percentage.

Metric What it measures Formula Data sources Excluded
MRR Monthly Recurring Revenue — the monthly revenue your current membership subscriptions generate Sum of all active subscription amounts normalized to a monthly rate Active Memberships + active Subscriptions (by status) Test-mode members; trial-window cancellations
MRR Growth Month-over-month percentage change in MRR (MRR this month − MRR last month) ÷ MRR last month × 100 Derived from MRR Same as MRR
Avg MRR per Member Average monthly revenue per paying member MRR ÷ Count of active paying members Derived from MRR + member count Test-mode members
Lifetime Revenue Total revenue received since your organization started in MapleGather Sum of all completed payments Payments with status succeeded Test-mode payments; refunds (netted separately)
Avg Revenue per Member Average total revenue per member (lifetime) Lifetime Revenue ÷ Total member count Derived from Lifetime Revenue + member count Test-mode members
Churn Rate Percentage of members who left in the period Members Lost ÷ Active Members at Period Start × 100 Member.effectiveStatus + Membership.cancellationReasonCode Test-mode members; trial-window cancellations (a cancel within a trial window is not a churned paying member)
Retention Rate Percentage of members who stayed 100% − Churn Rate Derived Same as Churn Rate
Members Gained / Lost / Net Absolute count changes in your membership Count of new members (Gained), cancelled/lapsed members (Lost), Gained − Lost (Net) Member.effectiveStatus changes in the period Test-mode members

Payments and members created in sandbox mode (Payment.mode = test) are excluded from all rate metrics by default. Turn on Show test-mode (available on financial reports, not the dashboard itself) to include sandbox data where applicable.

The default sparkline window is 90 days (the organization default). You can change the window for your session by selecting any card’s sparkline and choosing a different range. The current range is always shown in the page header.

These cards show items that may need your attention today. Each one drills directly to the relevant filtered list.

Card What it counts Drill target
Overdue renewals Members whose effective status is lapsed (a renewal lapsed past its grace period) Members list filtered to lapsed effective status
Pending applications Membership applications awaiting admin review Applications queue with pending filter
Event capacity warnings Events that are at or near capacity Events list with capacity warnings
Outstanding invoices Open invoices with a balance due Invoices list filtered to open status

When a count card shows 0, selecting it opens an empty state (“Nothing to see here”) — not a filtered list. There’s nothing to act on.
