Membership level settings reference
This page describes every field on the Add level / Edit level form in MapleGather so you know what each setting does before you save.
Basics
Section titled “Basics”| Field | What it does | Notes |

| Name | The name members and prospects see on the sign-up page and in their portal. | Required. Must be unique within your organization. |
| Description | Optional text shown on the sign-up page under the level name. | Supports plain text up to 1,000 characters. Hidden on the detail page when left blank. |
Pricing
Section titled “Pricing”| Field | What it does | Notes |

| Price | The amount charged per billing period. | Required. Enter 0 for a free level. |
| Billing period | How often the member is charged. | Options: Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, One-time. Default: Annual. |
| Multi-year cycles | Charges the member annually for a set number of years before prompting them to continue. | Off by default. When on, enter the number of cycles (1–10). |
Renewal
Section titled “Renewal”| Field | What it does | Notes |

| Rolling | Each member’s renewal date is anchored to the day they joined. | Default. Simplest for most organizations. |
| Fixed | All members in this level renew on the same calendar date each year. When you choose Fixed, a date picker appears for the anchor date. | Good for fiscal-year-based memberships. |
| Lifetime | Members pay once and never renew. | Disables auto-renew and renewal reminders for members at this level. |
Visibility
Section titled “Visibility”| Field | What it does | Notes |

| Public | Anyone on your sign-up page can see and join this level. | Default. |
| Members-only | Only existing members can see and switch to this level. | Useful for upgrade levels. Existing memberships are unaffected if you switch a populated level. |
| Invitation-only | Only people with an admin invitation can join this level. Prospects do not see it on the public sign-up page. | Admins must invite members individually. |
| Restrict to specific email domains | An optional switch shown under the Visibility options. When on, only prospects whose email matches a domain you list (for example, harvard.edu) see this level on your public sign-up page — it appears for them once they enter a matching email while applying. |
Public levels only (no effect on Members-only or Invitation-only). Add up to 10 domains; set Match to any or all. See Segment a level to a specific audience. |
Login access
Section titled “Login access”| Field | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Every member authenticates | Each member linked to this level gets their own sign-in account. | Default. |
| Owner-only authentication | On family or household levels, only the primary member gets a sign-in account. Linked members have profiles but cannot sign in. | Changing this on a level with existing households requires a confirmation step. |
Auto-renew
Section titled “Auto-renew”| Field | What it does | Notes |

| Auto-renew supported | Whether members on this level can enable automatic renewal. | Controlled per level. Lifetime levels always have auto-renew off. |
