Invitation link is expired or already used
The invitee clicked their admin invitation link and saw “Invitation expired — ask your admin to resend” instead of the setup screen.
What’s happening
Section titled “What’s happening”Invitation links are single-use and valid for 30 days from the time they were sent. If the invitee sees this page, one of three things happened:
- The 30-day token lifetime elapsed before the invitee clicked the link.
- The link was already used once (accepted) and can’t be used a second time.
- The invitation was resent, which invalidated the old link — the invitee may have an older email in their inbox.
This is a security feature, not a system error. No admin accounts or data were affected.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Sign in as an admin and go to Admin & Security → Admins → Pending invitations tab.
- Find the invitee’s invitation in the list.
- Select ⋮ on the invitation row and choose Resend invite.
- Ask the invitee to check their inbox for a new email from MapleGather and use the link in that message.
Note: The Resend invite option is only available at least 7 days after the last send. If it appears greyed out, hover over it to see the earliest date and time when resend becomes available.
If that didn’t work
Section titled “If that didn’t work”- If you don’t see the invitation in the Pending invitations tab, it may have already been accepted — check the Active tab for the invitee’s name.
- If the invitation was revoked before the invitee accepted, you need to send a new invitation from Invite admin.
- If you’re still not sure what happened, contact MapleGather support from Help → Contact support. Include the invitee’s email address and the approximate date the invitation was sent.
