Cancel your membership

This guide shows you how to cancel your membership or, if you’d prefer to keep your current period, stop future automatic charges without cancelling right away.

Who can do this: Any active member.

  1. Sign in to the member portal.

  2. Select My membership in the navigation.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Cancel membership.

  4. A dialog opens. Read the summary — it shows the date your membership stays active through and confirms the organization won’t charge you again.

Household primary? Cancelling will also end access for all linked household members. If any linked member wants to continue, they must move to an individual membership first. Contact the organization for help.

  5. You have two options:

    • Stop auto-renew instead — select this button if you want to keep your membership through the current paid period but stop future charges. This is the gentler option. Your membership stays active and you can re-enable auto-renew any time.
    • Cancel your membership — continue below to fully cancel.
  6. To fully cancel, optionally check the reasons that apply under “Why are you cancelling?” You can choose any number, or none — this is always optional.

  7. Optionally type any comments in the “Tell us more” box.

  8. Select Confirm cancellation.

You’ll know it worked when a confirmation page appears telling you that your membership is active through a specific date and you won’t be charged again. You’ll also receive a confirmation email from the organization with a link to undo the cancellation within 48 hours if you change your mind.

Your membership stays fully active through the date shown — you keep all your member benefits until then.

If you cancel by mistake, select the undo link in the confirmation email within 48 hours. Your membership renewal is reinstated.

  • “Confirm cancellation” is missing — your membership may already be cancelled. Check your membership status on the My membership page.
  • The dialog shows a payment warning — if your last renewal payment failed, the dialog notes this clearly. Cancelling at this point stops future charges but does not resolve the outstanding payment.
