Handover job failed

You see a “Handover job failed — contact MapleGather support” banner on the handover wizard or the admins list.

The account handover transfer runs as a background job. If a network issue or server error occurs mid-transfer, MapleGather stops the job safely and surfaces this banner. The outgoing admin’s account is unchanged — their access was not revoked and no records were partially transferred. Your organization has not lost access to anything.

  1. Click Retry on the error banner. MapleGather restarts the job from the last successful checkpoint, so records that already transferred don’t transfer again.
  2. Wait for the retry to complete. Both the outgoing admin and the successor receive an email when the job finishes.

If the job fails again after retrying:

  1. Go to HelpContact support.
  2. Submit a support ticket with:
    • Your organization name
    • The email addresses of the outgoing admin and the successor
    • The approximate date and time you started the handover

MapleGather support can inspect the job state and complete or roll back the transfer safely.
