Billing payment statuses reference

This page explains what each payment and invoice status means in MapleGather and where you see each one.

Payment statuses appear as badges on the payment transactions list and on each payment detail view.

Status What it means
Pending The payment was initiated but hasn’t settled yet. For online payments, this is typically a very brief state — it resolves to Succeeded or Failed within seconds.
Succeeded The payment was processed and the funds collected. A receipt fires automatically when a payment reaches this status.
Failed The payment was declined or could not be processed. The payment detail shows the specific decline reason from Stripe.
Refunded The full amount was refunded to the member’s card. A refund receipt fires automatically (unless an admin suppressed it).
Partially refunded Part of the payment was refunded. The payment detail shows the original amount, the refunded amount, and the remaining balance.
Disputed A member or cardholder has disputed this charge with their bank (a chargeback). Evidence must be submitted in the Stripe Dashboard before the evidence deadline. See Manage payment disputes and chargebacks.

Invoice statuses appear on the invoice list and on each invoice detail view.

Status What it means
Draft The invoice was generated but not yet sent or settled. Draft invoices can be edited.
Sent The invoice was sent to the member. It can still be edited if unpaid.
Paid The full balance has been collected. Paid invoices are read-only. To correct a paid invoice, void it and issue a new one.
Partially paid A payment was applied but a balance remains. Additional payments can be recorded against the same invoice.
Overdue The invoice is past its due date and still has an outstanding balance.
Voided The invoice was cancelled by an admin with an audit trail. The linked payment (if any) is not automatically refunded — use the Refund linked payment option if a refund is also needed.
Refunded The invoice has been refunded in full. A voided invoice cannot be voided again after it has been fully refunded.
