View and filter a member's activity timeline
This guide covers two scenarios: viewing a member’s full activity as an admin, and viewing your own activity timeline as a member.
For admins: view a member’s activity timeline
Section titled “For admins: view a member’s activity timeline”Who can do this: Any admin with access to the member database.
- Open the member’s detail page. See View a member record in detail.
- Select the Activity tab.
- The timeline shows all events for this member in reverse chronological order: membership changes, payments, profile edits, event RSVPs, and more.
- Select any entry to expand it and see more detail.
- Use the filter chips at the top of the timeline to narrow it by event type (such as Payments or Status changes) or date range.
- To load older entries, select Load more at the bottom of the list.
What the activity timeline shows
Section titled “What the activity timeline shows”- Events and when they happened
- The type of event (membership change, payment, profile update, and so on)
- For field changes: the field name and what changed. If a field holds personal information, only the field name is shown, not the value.
- For admin-triggered events: “The admin team” is shown as the actor, not the specific admin’s name.
- For system-triggered events (like an automatic status change): the event is attributed to the system.
For members: view your own activity timeline
Section titled “For members: view your own activity timeline”Who can do this: Any signed-in member.
- Sign in to your membership portal.
- Select Profile in the navigation bar to see your profile page, which shows your 5 most recent activities.
- Select View all activity to open the full activity timeline.
- Select any entry to expand it and see more detail.
- Select Load more at the bottom to see older entries.
Your timeline shows payments, RSVPs, profile updates, and membership changes. When your org’s admin team makes a change to your record, it shows as “Updated by org admin” — you’ll see what changed but not who made the change.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know the timeline loaded when entries appear in reverse chronological order with their event type badges. Selecting an entry expands it to show more detail.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Timeline shows “Couldn’t load activity” — select Try again to reload. Your other tabs on the record still work.
- “Couldn’t load more activity” — a temporary error occurred while loading older entries. Select Try again at the bottom of the list.
- An entry shows fields you don’t recognize — custom field names appear in the timeline even for fields that are no longer active. If an entry looks unexpected, contact your org admin.
