Cancel an event
This guide shows you how to cancel a published event and how to handle refunds for registrants.
Who can do this: Organization admins with event management permissions.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Cancellation closes registration immediately and notifies all registrants.
- You have 48 hours to undo a cancellation after confirming it.
- Refund handling for paid registrations is managed through the billing area. This guide covers the cancellation workflow only.
- Open the event.
- Select the ⋯ (overflow) menu at the top right of the event detail page.
- Select Cancel event.
- In the dialog, enter a Cancellation reason. This is required.
- Choose a Refund mode:
- Refund all — refunds are issued to all paid registrants.
- No refund — no refunds are issued.
- Review the impact summary showing how many registrants will be notified.
- Select Confirm cancellation.
The event status changes to Cancelled and all registrants receive a notification.
Undo a cancellation
Section titled “Undo a cancellation”If you cancel by mistake, you can undo it within 48 hours.
- Open the cancelled event.
- Find the Undo notice that appears at the top of the page.
- Select Undo cancellation before the 48-hour window closes.
After 48 hours, the cancellation cannot be undone.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know cancellation worked when the event status badge changes to Cancelled on the Events list. The event detail page shows the cancellation reason and a notice for registrants about refunds.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Cancellation reason is blank — the reason is required. Enter a reason and try again.
- You don’t see the Cancel event option — the event may already be cancelled, or you may not have the required permission. Contact your organization owner if you need access.
