Stripe processor settings reference

This page describes the settings available on the Stripe processor configuration page (Settings > Billing > Payment processor).

To connect Stripe or change these settings, see Connect Stripe and configure your payment processor.

Field What it does
Connection status Shows whether Stripe is connected and accepting live payments. Possible values: Connected, Verification required, Disconnected.
Account The display name and account ID (acct_…) of your connected Stripe account.
Verification Stripe’s verification status for your account. If it shows Verification required, you must complete Stripe’s onboarding before live payments are accepted. Select Complete Stripe setup to finish in Stripe.
Field What it does Limit
Statement descriptor The text that appears on a member’s card statement after a payment. Use your org name or a short recognizable form. 22 characters maximum

Characters beyond 22 are blocked at save. Stripe does not allow < or > characters in a statement descriptor.

Option What it means
Absorb fees (default) Your org pays Stripe’s processing fee (approximately 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction). Members pay the stated price only.
Pass through A surcharge is added to each member’s payment to cover the fee. The surcharge amount appears at checkout.

If you change the processing fee policy while you have active subscriptions, a confirmation dialog shows the number of members who will see the surcharge on their next renewal. You can optionally schedule a notification email to those members before the change takes effect.

The Webhook health section shows the last successful webhook delivery from Stripe and the last failure (if any in the past 7 days). Webhooks keep payment statuses in sync — if delivery fails, payment states may be stale.

Field What it shows
Last successful delivery Timestamp of the last successfully received Stripe event.
Last failure Timestamp and event type of the last webhook delivery failure, if any in the last 7 days.

If you see a warning about webhook failures, select Run a diagnostic to view remediation steps for each failing event type.
