Set your app appearance preference
This guide shows you how to switch MapleGather between light mode, dark mode, or a setting that follows your device automatically.
Who can do this: All signed-in users — admins and members alike.
- Click your account avatar in the top-right corner of any page.
- Select Appearance from the dropdown menu.
- Under Appearance, choose one of the three options:
- Light — always show the light theme, regardless of your device setting
- Dark — always show the dark theme, regardless of your device setting
- Follow system — match whatever light or dark mode your device is currently using
- The page redraws immediately in the selected theme. Your preference saves automatically — there is no Save button.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know it worked when the page redraws in the selected theme right away and a “Appearance saved” confirmation briefly appears at the bottom of the screen.
- If you use both the admin area and the member portal, each stores its own appearance preference. Changing the appearance in the admin area does not change it in the member portal, and vice versa.

If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- The page didn’t change themes — Check your internet connection and try selecting the option again. Your previous preference is still saved and will apply on your next page load.
