Event registration statuses reference

This page describes the possible statuses for an event registration and what each one means.

To change a registration, see Manage and edit registrations (admins) or Cancel your event registration (members).

Status What it means What the member can do What the admin sees
Pending payment Payment was initiated but not yet confirmed. The spot is held while payment processes. The hold expires after the auto-cancel window (default 30 minutes, range 5–120 minutes). If payment does not complete in time, the hold is released and the status moves to Cancelled. Complete payment to confirm the spot. Row shows “Pending payment” in the attendee list. The hold counts toward capacity.
Registered Registration is confirmed. For paid tickets, payment was successful. View the ticket and QR code. Cancel if the event policy allows. Row shows “Registered” in the attendee list.
Attended The member was checked in at the event. View the ticket. Cannot cancel after check-in. Row shows “Attended” in the attendee list with the check-in timestamp.
Cancelled The registration was cancelled — either by the member (self-cancel), by an admin, or because a pending-payment hold expired. Re-register if the event is still open and the organizer allows it. Row shows “Cancelled” in the attendee list.

pending_payment registrations count toward the event capacity. This prevents overselling during the payment window. The capacity shown to members reflects the actual available spots, including all pending holds.

When a pending-payment hold expires, the spot is released and the capacity count decreases accordingly.

cancelled cancelled (not available after attended)

A registration goes from pending_payment to registered when payment confirms, or to cancelled when the hold expires or the member cancels. A registered member can be moved to attended (check-in) or cancelled. Attended registrations cannot be cancelled through self-service.
