Get started with the admin setup tour
This guide explains the MapleGather setup tours — how they start, what they cover, and how to restart or launch them at any time.
Who can do this: All signed-in users. No special permissions are needed.
Admin setup tour (first-time admins)
Section titled “Admin setup tour (first-time admins)”When you accept your admin invitation and land on the dashboard for the first time, the setup tour starts automatically. It walks you through five key areas to get your organization ready.
Tour steps
Section titled “Tour steps”| Step | What it highlights |

| 2 | Memberships → Levels — create your first membership level |
| 3 | Events → New — create your first event |
| 4 | Members → Invite — invite your first members |
| 5 | Website → Publish — publish your organization’s site |
Each step highlights the relevant control on screen and includes a link to the full help article for that feature in the footer.
Navigate the tour
Section titled “Navigate the tour”- Read the guidance shown in the highlighted area.
- Select Next to move to the next step.
- Select Skip at any time to close the tour without completing it. You can always restart it later.
- After Step 5, select Finish. MapleGather records your completion and shows a confirmation: “Tour complete — restart any time from Help → Walkthroughs.”
Restart the admin setup tour
Section titled “Restart the admin setup tour”- Select the Help icon in the top-right corner of any page.
- In the side panel, select the Walkthroughs tab.
- Find Org setup tour in the list and select Restart.
- The tour reopens from Step 1.
Use “Show me how” for a specific feature
Section titled “Use “Show me how” for a specific feature”- Find the ? icon next to the feature you want to learn.
- Select the ? icon, then select Show me how.
- A step-by-step guide for that feature starts immediately.
- If no walkthrough exists yet for that feature, you’ll see: “We don’t have a walkthrough for this yet — view the help article or submit feedback.” Select View help article to read the relevant documentation, or select Submit feedback to request a walkthrough.
Member portal tour (first-time members)
Section titled “Member portal tour (first-time members)”When a member signs in to the member portal for the first time, a four-step tour starts automatically. It covers:
- Completing your profile
- Reviewing your privacy settings
- Finding upcoming events
- Sending and receiving messages
Select Next after each step and Finish when done.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know the admin tour completed successfully when you see the confirmation message: “Tour complete — restart any time from Help → Walkthroughs.”
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- The tour started again on the next page load — This can happen if the completion record didn’t save, usually due to a brief connection issue. Go to Help → Walkthroughs → Skip to dismiss it permanently. If it keeps reappearing, submit a support ticket.
