Undo a committed import

Every committed import can be reversed within 48 hours. This guide explains how to undo an import and what happens to your members’ data when you do.

Who can do this: Admins with the undo-import permission. If the Undo this import option isn’t available to you, ask your Org Owner.

  • The 48-hour window starts from the time the import completed. After 48 hours, the option disappears and you’ll need to contact support for a manual reversal.
  • Undoing an import removes created records, restores updated records to their state before the import, and removes any membership levels, fields, or tags that were created during the import — unless those items are now used by other members or imports.
  1. Go to Migration in the admin sidebar. The page shows your import history.
  2. Find the import you want to reverse. The Undo available countdown in the last column shows how much time is left.
  3. Select the (more actions) menu on that row and select Undo this import.
  4. In the dialog, select a reason from the Why are you undoing this import? dropdown. You must select a reason to continue.
  5. If any members from this import have logged in, paid, or registered for an event since the import, MapleGather shows you a warning with the count. Choose what to do with those members:
    • Keep those members, roll back the rest — Members who have been active keep their accounts. The others are removed. This is the default and the safer choice.
    • Roll back everything — including active members — All records from this import are removed, including those who have been active. A second confirmation is required for this path.
  6. Select the confirm button (Undo import or Keep those members, roll back the rest, depending on what you chose).
  7. Wait for the reversal to complete. The row in the history list updates to show the Undone status.

You’ll know the undo worked when you see a confirmation that says how many records were removed and how many were restored to their pre-import state. The import row in the history shows Undone and the undo option is no longer available for that import.

  • The undo option is missing — The 48-hour window may have closed. The row stays visible in your history but the option is replaced by “Window expired — contact support.”
  • The undo only reversed some records — Members with activity since the import may have been kept (if you chose the safe option). Check the confirmation message for exact counts.
  • The undo failed — Try again from the import history. If it keeps failing, contact support.
