Register for a paid event
This guide shows you how to register for an event that requires payment.
Who can do this: Active members with no outstanding renewal payment. Members in the grace period (membership is active but a recent renewal payment failed) cannot register for new events until the payment is resolved.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- If the event has a member price, it is applied automatically when you are signed in — you do not need to enter a code.
- If registration requires a passcode, select Have a code? on the event page to enter it.
- Your spot is held for a short window (up to 30 minutes by default) while you complete registration. If you do not complete payment in time, the hold is released.
- Go to the event page.
- In the Register section, select your ticket type. If you qualify for a member price, it shows automatically next to the ticket.
- Select Register.
- Complete any questions on the registration form, selecting Continue to advance through each section.
- On the Review step, check the order summary and select Continue to payment.
- On the Payment step, select Pay {amount}.
- If your bank requests additional verification, complete the step shown on screen.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know registration is complete when the confirmation page appears. The event page also shows a You’re registered section with your ticket and a link to download an .ics calendar file.
You also receive a confirmation email.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- “This ticket just sold out” — the ticket sold out between when you loaded the page and when you submitted. If other ticket types are available, select one and try again.
- “Card declined” — try a different card or contact your bank. Your spot is held briefly while you retry.
- The page says “Registration not open” — the event organizer has closed registration. Contact the organizer for help.
- Your member price is not showing — make sure you are signed in. If you are signed in and the price is still not showing, your membership level may not qualify for this ticket. Check the event page for eligibility details.
- Registration blocked — your membership renewal is past due — your membership is still active but a recent renewal payment failed. Update your payment method to restore full registration access. See Your renewal payment failed.
