Broadcast shows as Partial or Cancelled
A broadcast you sent shows a Partial or Cancelled status instead of Sent, and you need to understand what happened and whether any members didn’t receive it.
What’s happening
Section titled “What’s happening”- Partial — the broadcast started dispatching but stopped before all emails went out. This happens when a broadcast is cancelled while it’s in the Sending state.
- Cancelled — an admin cancelled the broadcast. If it was cancelled from the Queued state (before sending started), no emails were dispatched. If it was cancelled during sending, some emails may have already been dispatched.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”1. Find out how many emails dispatched
Section titled “1. Find out how many emails dispatched”- Go to Email > All blasts and open the broadcast.
- On the send-detail page, check the progress counter — for example, “743 of 1,000 dispatched.” This tells you how far the send got before it stopped.
- Filter the Recipients table by Bounced, Delivered, and Pending to see which members received the email, and filter by Suppressed to see who was excluded.
2. Resend within 48 hours
Section titled “2. Resend within 48 hours”If you want the remaining members to receive the email, you have 48 hours from the time the broadcast was cancelled to resend it.
- Check your admin notification area for the Unified Undo panel. This appears for up to 48 hours after a cancellation.
- Select Resend broadcast in the Undo panel.
Important: Resending goes to the entire original audience — not just the members who didn’t receive it. Members who already received the email in the first send will receive it again. There’s no option to send only to the subset who missed it.
If you don’t want to resend to the full original audience, compose a new broadcast and build a segment that targets only the members who didn’t receive the original.
3. If the broadcast was cancelled by mistake
Section titled “3. If the broadcast was cancelled by mistake”- If you cancelled it when you didn’t mean to, and it’s within 48 hours, use the Undo panel as described above.
- If more than 48 hours have passed, compose a new broadcast. You can reference the send-detail page of the cancelled broadcast to recreate the subject, body, and audience.
If that didn’t work
Section titled “If that didn’t work”- If the Undo panel isn’t visible, the 48-hour window may have elapsed or the panel may have been dismissed. In that case, compose a new broadcast.
- If the broadcast shows Partial and you didn’t cancel it, contact MapleGather support — this may indicate a system issue during dispatch.
