Application still pending
You submitted a membership application and it’s showing as “under review” or “pending,” and you’d like to know what comes next.
What’s happening
Section titled “What’s happening”Some membership levels require an admin to review and approve each application before it’s activated. Your application is sitting in the organization’s review queue. This is expected behavior — not a problem.
There are a few reasons an application stays pending:
- The level uses admin approval — every application is reviewed by a staff member before being activated.
- The level uses admin approval + payment held — you may have paid already, but the funds are held until your application is approved. If your application is declined, the full amount is refunded automatically.
- The organization may have a backlog or is reviewing in batches.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Wait and check your email. When an admin approves or declines your application, you’ll receive an email from the organization. Check your spam folder too — the email comes from the organization’s domain, not from MapleGather.
- Contact the organization directly. If you haven’t heard back in more than a few business days, reach out to the organization. Use the contact details on their website or in the email you received after submitting.
If that didn’t work
Section titled “If that didn’t work”- You paid but never received a confirmation email — check your spam folder for an email from the organization’s address. If it’s not there, the payment may still be processing. Contact the organization and mention when you submitted and what level you applied for.
- You need access urgently — the organization’s admin can activate your membership manually without waiting for the standard approval step. Ask them to do this.
