Review the import summary and handle errors
After an import finishes, MapleGather shows a summary of what happened — and what you need to do next. This guide covers how to read the summary, download the error report, and send your members their welcome email.
Who can do this: Admins with the import view-summary permission.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The summary screen appears automatically when an import completes or is cancelled. You can also reach it from Migration > your import in the history list.
Read the summary
Section titled “Read the summary”The summary screen shows four stat tiles: Created, Updated, Skipped — errors, and Duplicates flagged. If any items were created during mapping (levels, fields, or tags), a fifth tile and a Things you created this import section appear below. Each created item has a link so you can finish configuring it.
- A green header means every row succeeded.
- An amber header means some rows had errors. This is a partial success — the rows that succeeded are committed; only the failed rows need attention.
Download the error report
Section titled “Download the error report”If there are failed rows, select Download error report to get a CSV file. Each row in the report includes a plain-English description of what went wrong (for example, “Email format invalid — missing @ symbol”). Fix the issues in your original file, then come back and select Retry failed rows only. This reopens the import flow pre-loaded with just the failed rows and your saved column mapping — it creates a new import for those rows, so they get their own preview, commit, and 48-hour undo window.
If the report is very large (more than 1,000 errors), the download is sent to your email instead of triggering immediately.
Review duplicate members
Section titled “Review duplicate members”If the summary shows Duplicates flagged, select Review duplicates to see pairs of records that appear to match. You can merge individual pairs from the member detail page while full bulk-merge is available in a future update.
Send your members their welcome email
Section titled “Send your members their welcome email”When you’re ready to notify your imported members, select Set up the broadcast. This takes you to the broadcast configurator with your audience pre-filled. See Configure and send the post-migration broadcast.
If all your rows were updates (no new member accounts), MapleGather asks you to confirm before continuing to the broadcast.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know the summary is complete when the header is green (or you’ve downloaded and addressed the error report for an amber header) and you’ve decided whether to send the broadcast.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Retrying failed rows also fails — If rows keep failing after a retry, MapleGather shows a message suggesting the source data may have a systematic issue. Select Download error report, fix the data, and start a new import — or select Contact support for help. See Your import has errors or skipped rows.
- The error report hasn’t arrived by email — Check your spam folder. The email comes from your org’s sending domain, not from MapleGather directly.
