Use the AI migration wizard
The AI migration wizard guides you through setting up your organization step by step — from importing members to sending your first broadcast. It’s the easiest way to migrate if you’ve never done this before.
Who can do this: Admins with the migration wizard permission (migration:wizard). If you don’t see the wizard option, ask your Org Owner.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The wizard is optional. You can always use the manual import path instead. See Upload and map your import file.
- The wizard saves your progress automatically, so you can stop at any time and pick up where you left off — even if a different admin continues on your behalf.
Start the wizard
Section titled “Start the wizard”- When you first sign in as an admin, the wizard greets you in a conversation pane on the right side of the screen. It’s not a pop-up — you can dismiss it at any time and return to it later.
- If you’ve already dismissed it, go to Migration in the admin sidebar and select Run migration wizard.
- The wizard asks what system you’re moving from. Select your current tool from the chips shown, or select Other and type it in.
Walk through the 6-step checklist
Section titled “Walk through the 6-step checklist”The left panel shows a 6-step checklist. You can see your progress at a glance and come back to any completed step to review it.
- Work through each step the wizard guides you to. The Import members step is where you’ll upload your file — the wizard handles the upload and mapping alongside you.
- During the Import members step, the wizard proposes column mappings based on your file’s column names and the shape of the values. If it’s not sure, it asks you a question rather than guessing. You can always override any suggestion.
- To skip a step for now, select Skip for now. The step is marked as skipped, not complete. You can return to it any time.
- To revisit a completed step, select it in the checklist. It opens in read-only mode with an Edit option.
PII and your data
Section titled “PII and your data”The wizard reads only your column names and the shape of your values (for example, “this column looks like dates”) to suggest mappings. It never sends your members’ actual data — names, emails, or any personal information — to the AI. You’ll see a note confirming this when you upload your file.
Resume a paused session
Section titled “Resume a paused session”If you close the wizard and come back later, select Run migration wizard from the Migration menu. The wizard restores your conversation and opens at the step where you left off. If another admin has been working in the wizard, you’ll see a note showing what they did.
Get human help
Section titled “Get human help”If the wizard can’t answer something or you’d rather talk to a person, select Open a support ticket. The wizard carries your conversation into the ticket so the support team has full context.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”You’ll know the wizard is done when all 6 steps in the checklist show a checkmark and the wizard says you’re ready to launch.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- The wizard isn’t available — Ask your Org Owner to confirm your role includes the migration wizard permission.
- The wizard seems stuck or gave a confusing answer — Select Open a support ticket to escalate. The wizard will never loop on a bad answer; it always offers a way out.
- You started on a phone and want to continue on a computer — The wizard saves your progress to your account, not your device. Sign in on your computer and select Run migration wizard to continue.
